We visited the Del Rey Woods school just before Valentines day to present Ikebana to more than 70 children in the Community Project for Youth program . We had spray painted wine bottles to use as containers and provied each child with greenery and a lovely red rose to make an arrangement to take home to their family

June Matsuoka is demonstrating and teaching the chilren how to cut the stems of the flowers and plant materials under water for longer lasting arrangements . Masako Kondo, Agnes Martello, Terri Schruben, Emiko Peterson, Caterina Marsh, Betty Jetter and Carol Marchette are assisting.

21st Anniversary Celebration

We celebrated our 21st anniversary as a chapter at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club with a luncheon honoring our members and friends who helped us with the North American Regional Conference. We also honored our founding members present, and all the past presidents. We were sent a welcome message from Eunie Shiffman, our third president.
