Kathy Toy was born in Kentucky. She studied Interior design at Michigan State University and did graduate work at Un iversity of Central Florida in English Literature. Kathy lived in Tokyo in 1988 where she studied at the Ohara School of Ikebana. She is active in the San Francisco Bay area in the Ohara School of Ikebana, Northern California Chapter, Ikeban International and the Ikebana Teacher's Federation.
